Australe K-Edition

The Australe K-Edition collection of nine semi-refractory terracotta vases is inspired by the colours and untamed landscapes of far-away ancestral lands.

The encounter between two apparently distant worlds has inspired an original creative project: on the one hand, the artisanal character and poetics of the hand-shaped pottery of Cuore Carpenito and on the other, the industrial excellence of ceramic surfaces leader Kronos. They come together in a joint celebration of the craft tradition and industrial innovation, making a collection that embodies the best of both worlds. The terracotta pieces have natural colours and are produced by combining different body mixes to generate a striking tactile effect.

Each work has a title that evokes primitive sounds and vibrations. Their shapes consist of a cylinder made by hand using a sheet of clay obtained from a plain block, decorated with more or less geometrical forms that provide the symbolic theme.

AUSTRALE K-EDITION & MATERIA

Australe K-Edition is the transposition into sculpture of the tactile and chromatic beauty of MATERIA.
The nine vases dialogue with the materials, colours and textures of the Materia collection.
Their colour shades have been aligned with those of the collection through the application of a coloured coating of pigments and bonding agents compatible with the semi-refractory terracotta substrate.
Last but not least, the texture, created entirely by hand for each vase, was also inspired by the collection’s finishes.

K-GEO

The colour of antique silk, it conveys a mood of balance and harmony. Its structure, with its perfect sequence of circles, evokes the silent beat of time and the delicacy of a small yet precise movement, like the sewing of an embroidery stitch.

K-CATO

The colour of ash, it expresses solidity and simplicity. This cylinder achieves an equilibrium of opposites: a perfect, rounded disc on the left and a more angular, assertive shape on the right. Two distinct, complementary signs that combine in an elegant, statuesque whole.

K-SAO

A soft grey-brown colour that evokes the sweetness of freshly-ploughed earth. Constructed on a cylindrical base, it features more rounded, gentler forms, suggesting comfort and protection. In its simplicity, this vase calls up the impression of a sheltering figure: solid, comfortable and appealing.

K-TOA

Austere and understated as gypsum, conserving a quiet elegance. Its winged form extends lightly, like an almost imperceptible wingbeat, on the cusp between poise and dynamism, rest and motion.

K-CARE

A product with a strong primitive character, like the moon setting behind the outline of a rock, half-concealed by the raw, tactile colour of concrete.

K-TA

In the warm, enticing shade of sandalwood, a vase of totemic power, with strict mirror-symmetry and a minimalist style.

K-OLO

In the warm, earthy shades of incense, its shapely form is light and finely balanced. Its decorative features, grouped together at the top, underline the vase’s sleek verticality in a dialogue between geometry and soft, rounded motifs. A joyful, simple, youthful vase.

K-PAO

A perfect blend of immaculate severity and gentle curves. Its earthy green colour evokes the depth of nature and the stability of matter. Its ascending lines and circular forms evoke the silent motion of antique messengers, bearers of wisdom and mystery.

K-ESO

Ancestral forms which blend the solemnity of the sacred with the reassuring presence of a guardian. Its warm colour suggests the soft glow of light at sunset. The mysterious characters set into the surface tell timeless stories.
