Wood look porcelain stoneware

Kronos Ceramiche wood-look porcelain stoneware tiles originate from in-depth study of the various types of natural wood.
Research aimed at the accurate, realistic reproduction of wood’s vein patterns and shade variations, with its distinctive features and its uniquely tactile sensations.
We combine these appearance characteristics with the technical properties of our porcelain stoneware which is much tougher, hygienic andeasy-clean than natural wood and is also immune to time and weather, unlike the natural equivalent.
An environment-friendly choice of superlative quality for unique, bespoke wood-look floor and wall coverings.
A perfect mix for a versatile choice suitable for all contexts and applications, simplified by the vast range of colours, thicknesses, sizes and decorative tiles available.

Why choose wood-look porcelain stoneware?
Find out more Reduce
Choosing wood-look porcelain stoneware means combining the authentic charm of wood with the high performance of a state-of-the-art ceramic surface.
It is an increasingly popular solution for those who want warm, elegant and textured environments without sacrificing strength, practicality and durability.
From an aesthetic standpoint, this surface faithfully reproduces natural grains, knots and nuances, offering a sophisticated and welcoming look that enhances both classic contexts and more contemporary projects.
The result is a refined balance of natural inspiration and design.
Functionally, it is a particularly versatile choice.
It is suitable for the most lived-in interior spaces, such as living rooms, kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms, but can also be applied outdoors and in all situations where technical, reliable and high-performance paving is required.
Its resistance to moisture, wear and tear, stains and temperature fluctuations makes it ideal for high-traffic residential and commercial projects.
A further added benefit is the ability to develop trim tiles and customised designs, ensuring continuity in the project and meeting the most sophisticated aesthetic and design requirements. This makes it possible to create coordinated solutions, with attention to detail, that blend seamlessly with the architecture of the space.
Finally, compared to natural wood, it is easier to care for on a day-to-day basis: it does not require complex treatments and allows the surface to retain its beauty over time with simple, routine maintenance.
This is why it is a high-end choice for those seeking natural aesthetics, technical performance and maximum design freedom all in one solution.

Wood-look porcelain stoneware installation layouts
Find out more Reduce
Wood-look installation layouts play a key role in defining the aesthetic character of the surface and the overall balance of the room.
Even when using the same material, the way the planks are installed can significantly alter the perception of the space, making it feel more dynamic, more elegant or visually more spacious.
The main installation layouts are:
- Linear installation
The planks are all installed in the same direction, running parallel to each other. They can be laid aligned, in a regular and uniform pattern, or in a staggered installation for a more dynamic and natural effect.
In some projects, it is also possible to use a variety of sizes to create a more varied visual rhythm and a composition with a more contemporary aesthetic. - Italian herringbone
This is the most traditional version of the herringbone installation.
The planks maintain a traditional rectangular shape, with no diagonal cuts at the ends, and are installed at 90 degrees to each other, with the end of one element placed next to the long side of the other. - French (Kronos Chevron) and Hungarian herringbone
In these patterns, the planks are cut at the end at a specific angle (45 degrees in the French style, 30 or 60 degrees in the Hungarian style) and laid side by side to form a continuous, perfectly symmetrical V-shape.
The choice depends on several factors, including room size, plank size, design style and desired visual result.
In linear installation, the first important distinction is between aligned and staggered installation.
An aligned linear installation creates a neater, simpler and more structured look, particularly suited to contemporary interiors and clean, geometric spaces.
A staggered linear installation, on the other hand, introduces a more lively and natural rhythm, with a warmer and more dynamic visual effect.
Herringbone patterns are best suited to more prestigious, decorative spaces or those with a more distinctive design aesthetic, where the floor becomes a truly distinctive feature of the space.
In some cases, the way the flooring is installed in relation to the walls can also affect the feel of the room: a diagonal layout, for example, can help to give the floor a sense of movement and depth.
Which colour should you choose for wood-look porcelain stoneware?
Find out more Reduce
The choice of colour directly affects the identity of the space and the way the surface accompanies its volume, light and atmosphere.
Lighter, more uniform shades express minimalist elegance and amplify the perception of brightness; warmer, more natural shades introduce a cosier, softer, more tactile feel.
Finally, darker colours lend depth, intensity and a bolder aesthetic, making them ideal for projects with a more sophisticated style.
Alongside the chosen colour, the style of the surface also plays a decisive role.
A wood look with light grains and few knots conveys a more understated, elegant and architectural aesthetic, ideal for interiors and exteriors where formal balance and a clean design are key.
Conversely, a design featuring more prominent knots, greater colour variations and more pronounced textural features creates a more authentic and decorative look, giving the floor a more striking presence within the design.
